Corporate Initiatives

As Nitor Group’s primary and often only designer Melissa’s conquered everything from creating simple infographics and diagrams to designing all corporate marketing materials, including promotional brochures, business cards, and conference exhibit booths. Designed, implemented and currently maintains multiple corporate web sites. Established branding guidelines, document and presentation templates, color palette plug-ins and design resource repositories enabling everyone in the company to easily maintain the corporate branding.

Most recently, with Nitor Group’s shift from an IT consulting services company to a product company, Melissa’s expanded her skill set to include SEO, SEM, content marketing, social media marketing, Google Analytics and Google AdWords to promote Nitor Group’s RosettaHealth product suite and their newest company web site, rosettahealth.com. Built with Squarespace’s CMS, Melissa designed and implemented custom HTML5, CSS3, and JQuery on the RosettaHealth web site and maximized built-in SEO, social media, and Google Analytics features. Melissa’s efforts improved the SERP rankings for the web site from SERP Pages 3 and 4 to the top of Page 1 within a few months.

Client Engagements

Leveraging the breadth and depth of her knowledge, skills and experience Melissa provided successful design and user experience solutions to clients within the federal government and commercial sectors across varying project types and system architectures, working closely with the client, project team and end users as needed throughout the project lifecycle.

Federal government efforts have all focused on Health IT and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including HHS’ Family Health History site and multiple projects supporting HHS’ Office of the National Coordinator’s (ONC) launch of the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) for which Melissa designed the initial branding logo. She also strategized, designed and implemented a Confluence-based NwHIN consumer website and team intranet, as well as the NwHIN Exchange Onboarding Collaboration wiki, Standards and Interoperability (S&I) Framework Browser, and other smaller web-based tools that supported multiple S&I contract teams.

Commercial projects included an online retail portal for WorldCell, an international telecom company, and GSE Systems’ EnVision, a web-based training system for the energy industry.
